Ever since Microsoft released the service pack 1 for its famous windows vista Ive been getting a lot of complaints. Many people who installed the Vista SP1 are having troubles. Existing programs fail to work, drivers fail, hardware issues etc are being reported. Many programs like anti virus etc are getting blocked. Microsoft in its disclaimer says that before updating to vista service pack 1, we must update all our drivers. Vista was a failure initially itself. The only sales vista has is bundled sealed with laptops. People are being forced to use vista. Windows XP was far far better. But now I am a Linux user. I use Ubuntu and I simply love it.

After a delay of over a month the Vista service pack 1 is out now. Now it looks like a lot of improvements to the troubled vista. Some of the changes are listed below.

  • Faster copying of files
  • Enhanced security
  • Better hard drive management for power saving
  • Stable drivers
  • Anti malware tools
  • New APIs
  • Support for exFAT file system

Windows vista sales are driven by laptop manufacturers who bundle vista with their laptops.
